What's on each page
Page 1: Show & Tell
Children find three ways to let someone know they feel happy, and three ways to show they feel sleepy, with a row of three blank boxes for each feeling. Suggestions include writing words, drawing, making an emoji or picking a color that fits the feeling.
Page 2: Figure It Out
Two friends make three decisions together without speaking: which book to read, what to play at recess, and which of them will share a favorite food with the class. Four blank lines follow, for writing about how they worked together.
Page 3: Write Your Own
The authors built the book from families' answers about how they communicate. This page asks children to imagine a book of their own, including its subject and what they would ask classmates, with one large framed space for their ideas.

Using the PDF with assistive technology
The download is the original file, unchanged. It hasn't been tested with a screen reader or certified against any accessibility standard. An automated look at the file found:
- The file is tagged, sets English as its language and has selectable text.
- Images, including the book cover, have no text descriptions.
- The tagged reading order doesn't follow the order of the page, and heading levels are out of sequence.
- The blank boxes and lines can't be typed into, because the file has no fillable fields.
- The file's built-in title reads “Your paragraph text,” which some apps may show or read aloud.
The descriptions above cover every activity on the three pages, so you can read them here without opening the PDF. To request information in another format, email cbcupp@gmail.com.
